Society of Strafford Welcome to the Strafford Universalist Society home page. We are a small Unitarian-Universalist congregation that is slowly rebuilding in a church that was founded in 1798 the oldest in Vermont and fourth oldest in the nation. Our church is in the village of South Strafford on Route 132. The current congregation has been meeting since June, 2001. Services on the first and third Sunday of each month are led by our minister, Dr. M'ellen Kennedy. In summer, we meet in the historic church building in the center of South Strafford village, while in the colder months, we meet across the street in Barrett Hall. We have a small but active Social Action committee that keeps us tuned in to the UU communities around us in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Quebec. We have successfully funded a small water project in West Africa, and our members have participated in local and national peace rallies and state-wide social actions. In summer, our church hosts weekly folk music concerts on featuring some of New England's best performers. If you happen to be in Strafford, Vermont, on the first or third Sunday of the month, please come and join us! 2008- 09 Church Officers Moderator:
